Weekend Window ~ Boating

This weekend we went boating with some friends. Andrew had a blast. He loved it when the boat would go fast and kept asking to go faster. He and daddy also got to ride in a tube that was dragged behind the boat, sort of like water skiing. Andrew loved it. Don't worry, even though you can't see him, Marc is hanging on the back of the tube while Andrew was on it.

We also got a visit from my sister and her family. It is funny because Andrew called my other sister's family "The People" and this sister's family "My Friends". It took him nearly the entire time there were here before he could/would remember their names. He kept calling all of them Jennifer. LOL! Earlier in the week we went to Six Flags and he LOVED it! He wanted to ride everything and was sad when he was too short. The kid has no fear!!! We also went to Hurricane Harbor on a different day. He had a good time there too, but the water was FREEZING!!!!!! Needless to say my sister and I took all the really little ones home early. I think he would of had a better time if the water had been warmer. (I don't have any pictures of them together yet, but hopefully soon.) I forgot to add that all on his own he won 4 stuffed animals playing those carnival games!!!! I can't even win one of those!!!!

He is also a certified monkey. We went to a little friend's party at My Gym where they had like a gymnastics bar over the ball pit. Well, Andrew would stand on the side and jump to catch the bar in the air and then swing there for a few seconds. Man, that kid had the best hand-eye coordination. His timing was pretty much perfect. Speaking of which, he can now hit a baseball pitched to him (without using a Tee) almost every time. Grant it we are pretty close, but that isn't too bad for a 3 year old. He can also punt a football or soccer ball on his own now. That he must get from his father the soccer goalie. He just amazes me sometimes.

Weekend Window

This weekend started off on Thursday when Andrew finished his swim lessons with flying colors. He did really well and can swim under water to the steps and float on his back for quite a while. He finished lessons in 5 weeks, which is great! He really likes to swim and now I feel more comfortable taking him swimming by myself. Who knows, I could have another Michael Phelps on my hands. ;) Speaking of Michael Phelps, wow!!!!! Could you imagine 8 gold medals in one Olympics? I mean think about it, most people don't even win 1!

Friday we went to the Rough Riders game with GAM, Robert, Matthew, and Heather to watch the game and for the fireworks after. Andrew did really good at the game. He loved the fireworks and when Marc said that they were cool, he went around telling everyone that "fireworks cool!". He even told Grandma and Grandad over the phone.

Saturday we went to a birthday party for one of Andrew's friends. He just loves birthday parties and had a blast jumping on all the jumping balloons. The nice part about a party here is that he is so wiped out later on that he goes right to sleep at bedtime. Of course when we got home we finished watching the Olympics.

Finally, I am going to be brave and say that Andrew is potty trained. We have hardly had any accidents and he is really good at telling me when he has to go potty when we are out. Even at the baseball game. He is still pretty young so we will see what happens when he starts MDO.

Weekend Window

We had a pretty nice weekend. It started off with Andrew and I going to swim at our friend's neighborhood pool. Boy was it nice! It had this whole area at the front of the pool that was like a kiddie area. It was only about 9 inches deep or so and was basically the first step of the pool extending out far into the pool. So, Andrew and the boys got to run around and "swim" there. Well, apparently when I put my spray sun screen on, I missed my entire back and shoulders which inevitably got sunburned. When Marc got home I asked him if I was burnt and showed him my shoulders. Now Andrew goes around showing us his shoulder and saying "I burnt too, shoulder".

Saturday we went to see "Space Chimps". It was not too bad. A lot more action than WALL-e. Andrew did really good and sat pretty much the whole time. Having the popcorn in the cardboard drink holder helps. That night Marc and I started listing to Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight". We had been hearing a whole bunch about the new book in the series, "Breaking Dawn", coming out on Friday so, we decided to get the series on audio. That is the one thing I really miss not getting to do as much now that I have Andrew, is read at will. Marc and I listen to a book every night as we go to bed. It is kind of nice, I get to "read" a book every night, I don't have to strain my eyes, I don't have to stop every five seconds, and we both get to "read" it at the same time. I ended up staying up till like 3:30 am listening to it. I am hooked, I really like it.

Sunday we took Andrew to the pool to practice swimming. It did not go well. He fought us and cried the whole time, even when we were playing. Needless to say we only stayed like 10 min. Then Marc had to go back into work to get ready for his trial (or whatever it was) today. Overall a nice weekend, with just enough to do not to be bored, but not so much that we were needing one more day to recover.

Weekend Window

We have been pretty busy this weekend getting ready for my sister's visit (kind of last minute), then Marc's mom's visit at the end of the week. So, I you can imagine I have been cleaning like crazy. In all my cleaning I finaly found Andrew's cross for his room. His Godmother gave it to him for his Baptism (2 years ago), and I could not remember where I had put it. I even started to question if he got one. You know how "mommy brain" is. I saw the box and was "ah-ha, there it is!" It feels good to know that I wasn't imagining things.

Andrew's newset thing is wanting to take a shower. Anytime we are in the master bathroom he says "Shower? Me too." He has even started taking off his clothes asking to shower. He is even trying to make it a family affair and want all 3 of us in the shower at once. We keep telling him we can't all fit. Though, it would save on the water bill. ;)

These pictures are of Andrew and Bruce playing under the crib. If you can't tell, Andrew is stacking blocks while under there.

Weekend Window

So, the long weekend is wrapping up. We really had a great weekend. Saturday, Marc decided he needed to paint the utility room and down stairs bathroom (he really only needed to paint the utility room). A while back one of Marc's red pens exploded in the utility room and it literally looked like a murder had taken place there. Since this was "his" project he got to paint it himself. For some reason painting rooms isn't my idea of a relaxing weekend together. Both rooms look really good. My job is just to do the touch ups.

Andrew has been cracking me up the past few days (besides driving me crazy, he has been a major grouch). His new thing is to say "not yet". Example: "Do you need to go potty?" "Not yet" "Time for Night-Night" "not yet". You get the picture.
He had good time looking for paint at Home Depot and every time we would stop he would say "buy it". Marc also showed him how to put his little football on the golf tee and kick it off. Which is good for me, now I don't have to hold it while he kicks. Believe me there are time when I want to pull a Lucy and yank the ball out at the last minute, but I can't, mommies have to be nice.

Weekend Window

So, the weekend started off with MNO on Friday. We went bowling and had a blast. Some of you may know that bowling and me don't always mix well and may be asking "what was she thinking" and "those poor people" . Even though I really like to do it, I am just really bad at it. But, I did pretty well and came close to a score of 100 (for me that is great!). We then went out for dinner and had a good time talking without any "little" distractions.

Saturday Marc and I went to a dinner party for his work. It was great! The host cooked the most wonderful food. I actualy ate a scallop, caviar, and green beans. The Scallop tasted like steak! This was the first time I have ever eaten fresh geen beans and they weren't bad ( I can't stand green beans, well can ones now)! I was amazed at how well he could cook! We also drank the best wine and I am not usually a wine drinker. The whole evening was perfect and we really enjoyed ourselves. The best part was that Andrew got to spend the night at GAM's (Great Aunt Margaret) house. Andrew and Marc had already been swimming that day while I was a baby shower. Marc said he had a blast and kept wanting to "drowned" himself. I guess that means he likes to put his head in the water. I know he likes to jump in. But, like a typical dad, he didn't take any pictures. There is still a lot of the summer left and there will be many more pool pictures to share.

Today is going to be a nice quiet day. Andrew is still at GAM's and I have a chance to get some things done around the house and enjoy the mommy only time.
