Wordless Wednesday ~ Almost

What is it about this age where the kids have such dorky smiles? Anyway, Andrew and I will be heading up to MI, later this week to visit Grandma Kate and Grandpa Jebb. While we are there, we won't have computer access and I am not sure if I will post anything else before we leave. So, I wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. See you all next year!

Now that's not something you see everyday!

As I was driving to my cousin's in Lewisville on Business 121 I saw like 8 turkeys walking by the side of the road near that little fork of the river. It was really weired, I just never thought I'd see wild turkeys there. They were really pretty. They had a metallic green tint to the feathers on their back.

Ouch!

Poor Andrew, he got bit at MDO today. His teacher told me it was unprovoked and it almost broke the skin. Sure enough you can still see the mark on his back and count every individual tooth. Poor baby. Both kids were taken to the Director and the other kid apologised. When I asked Andrew what happened he said "the other people bit me hard and they got in big trouble by Miss Moss". I may post a picture of it later.

Decorating the Christmas Tree

The other night we finally got to putting the ornaments on the tree. Andrew was so cute. Every time he sees the tree he tells me "Christmas presents! My birthday". When Marc asked him last night who's birthday was on Christmas he said "Baby Jesus". AWWWW! See they do listen sometimes. When it came to decorating the tree he got so excited. Every time he put an ornament on he would say "tah-dah!" and put his arms in the air. Of course he put every ornament on one branch. Here are a few cute pictures.

Kissing Cousins

So, here is the picture of Andrew smooching with his cousin Evelyn (3). She is very kissy and as I said before, Andrew is very willing. Their other cousin Ryan who just turned 3 wasn't so into the PDA. When my mom asked if he wanted Evelyn to visit again at Christmas he said "I guess, but she kisses me too much".

Here is a picture of my parents with all their grand kids: (in order from oldest to youngest) Elise, James, Emily, Joesph, Alison, Eileen, John Michael, Evelyn, Ryan, Andrew, William and Aidan.

We Are Back

We got back from El Paso late last night. We had a really good Thanksgiving and I hope everyone else did too. Andrew had a blast with all his cousins and I will post pictures soon. His one cousin Evelyn, who is 3, decided that Andrew was the perfect kissing partner. I am sure it is because he was so willing. We also got to play this karaoke game at my sister's house. Let me tell you, I always knew I couldn't sing, but I had no idea I was that bad. Andrew can actually carry a little tune. It was funny to watch him sing in to a banana as my back up singer. I will post pictures of our trip soon.

Oh Andrew!

My sister, her husband and new baby came over yesterday for a visit. Of course Andrew was all excited to see the baby. Anyway, the baby was babbling and Andrew asked if he could talk. My sister said he can't say words yet. Well, Andrew then went to say "Daddy says bad words, Daddy says "@*#+ing"." OMG!!!! I was mortified. We have had a discussion about bad words in the past and how you are not suppose to say them and both Marc and I have been pretty good not saying any. Well, I guess not good enough. I am just glad he said Daddy and not Mommy. I am also surprised at how good of a memory he has. The last time he heard the word, Marc had spilt the food he had picked up for dinner in the garage as he got out of the car and was cursing up a storm. This was way over a month ago maybe even 2. Andrew, Andrew Andrew. Anyway here is a picture of him and the baby.

Follicle Follies

So you may have noticed (or maybe not) that there was no Follicle Follies last month. Well, there was no follicle so there was nothing to tell. This cycle is looking to be the most promising one yet. Grant it I did have to go in for 3 scans, but I guess the 3rd times the charm and I have a nice big follicle. Now I will get my shot and hope it does what it is suppose to. I went in 3 times when I got pregnant with Andrew so, let's hope that is a trend. This cycle I did take an LH booster in addition to all my other meds, so that may have done the trick. Keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer for me that is works. Officially I have been trying for one year since the miscarriage and 1 year and 8 months total since I decided to try for baby #2. I am way past ready for this to work.

Now Don't You Think We Look Alike?

I have said from the beginning that I thought Andrew looked like me, but everyone tells me they think he looks like Marc. Are you Sure?

Kids Say the Funniest Things

A few days ago Andrew was looking at some picture in my room and he saw one of my cousin and me a few years ago. This is how the following conversation went:

Andrew: Look it's mommy

Me: yes, and who else?

Andrew: GeeGee (That is what I called my cousin when we were little)

Me: That's right

Andrew: Where's baby Abrey?

Me: She wasn't born yet

Andrew: HUH!?! (By the way he has been doing this a lot and it is getting on my nerves)

Me: She wasn't there because she hadn't been born yet

Andrew: Was she dead?

Me (wondering when he "got" the concept of dead and how did he know to apply it here all while not trying to laugh): No, but she was in Heaven with Jesus.

Andrew: HUH!?!

If I could have taken a picture of his face at that moment I would have.

I Heart Ace Cider

I am not a big beer drinker, and this isn't really a beer, but I love Ace Cider. It has been hard to find here and the one place that I know has it is the Irish Rover Pub and it is on tap. The other day Marc found some at Market Street. Yeah!!! I first got on to it in VA and have been hooked ever since. I think it tastes like a Jolly Rancher. Next time you get a chance you should try it.

The Wicked Witch of the West

Andrew watched "The Wizard of Oz" for the first time last night. Let me tell you how funny it was to watch him scream and jump into my lap every time the "bad witch" came on the screen. I laughed my head off! Then he would tell me "bad witch scares me hard". Yet when I would say ok I'll turn it he would be "no I want to see the bad witch and Toto". I was just sure he'd wake up all night telling me he was scared, but no, he actually slept all night long. The first time in like 3 months, not to mention he slept until almost 10 this morning (yes!). Needless to say, I didn't wake him up to go to StrollerFit. I know, I am a slacker, but sleep today was a tiny bit more inviting than the attendance challenge. ;)

Fido Funnies ~ Doggy Diet

When we took Bruce in the other day for boarding when we went to Lubbock we got him weighed. The porker weighs 103 lbs!!!!! Labs are suppose to weight like 75 lbs. I give him a few more pounds than what they say the average is b/c he is a lot taller than what the standard says, but 103!!!!! He doesn't seem like he should weigh that much. So, now we are going to have to take him on some walks and watch what he eats. I am convinced it is all the little extras he gets from Andrew leaving food within puppy reach, and all the stuff that falls on the floor.

What kids say....

Marc thought this original post was a little TMI so I erased it. Instead I will tell you how Andrew now knows what a lie is and when he is lying. On our way back this weekend while Andrew was sitting in his car seat he kept telling us that he was a bad boy. When I said you aren't a bad boy he said "I know, I'm lying" then he laughed.

Here is another blast from the past of Andrew

Trip to Lubbock

Over the weekend we went to Lubbock to see Marc's brother and family. This was the first time we got to meet our newest Kirkland nephew Matthew (4 months). Andrew just loved him! He was constantly asking about baby Matthew and then would say "baby Matthew, I like him. Baby Matthew is nice". Then the baby has really chubby cheeks and Andrew told us "he's chubby right there" and then would poke his cheeks. It
was just too cute. Andrew had a good time playing with his big cousin Ryan. They would have their moments of course and Andrew came home with a little black eye. The trip up and back went smoothly (thank God for portable DVD players) which is always a blessing. Again Andrew cried when we had to drop Bruce off for boarding and was very very happy when we picked him up. Here are some cute pictures from the trip. In the last one you can see Andrew poking the baby's cheek.

The Next Tiger Woods??????

Andrew has been bugging the you know what out of us lately to go golfing on the golf course. So, Saturday, Marc took him to play mini golf and the kid made 2 holes in one!!!!! I guess that is what happens when you play golf all day long.

Halloween 2008

Andrew had a really fun time on Halloween. He even remembered what to do from last year, but I will have to say he really "got it" this year. He would leave from one house and run (as best he could, because like the real Dumbo, his ears would fall and impede his forward progress) to the next and ring the doorbell right away and if they didn't answer the door immediately he would try and know and if "they were still taking too long" he would try the knob. Needless to say I had my work cut out for me. We went a decent distance before he pooped out and wanted to be carried home.

Marc and I even dressed up this year, though we didn't look as good as last year. We both threw together a costume. I was Mickey Mouse using my own clothes and Andrew's ears from DW. Marc got a Superman T-shirt and wore Andrew's cape. Now this almost caused a costume mutiny in our house. When Andrew saw Daddy dressed as Superman he yelled "I want to be Superman!" and when we told him he had to be Dumbo he started crying. So, he got to be Superman for a little bit but then I made him (yes, I am the mean mommy) put Dumbo on or else we couldn't go trick-or-treating.

GAM came over as well as a crayon and brought her Dachshund, Scooter, dressed as a hot dog. Even Bruce got in on the action. I was going to have him be Pluto since I was Mickey, but he really didn't have to dress up any since he is already yellow with a green collar. So, he too got to be Superman for a little bit.

The one thing about the night that really cracked me up about the night was that everyone thought Andrew was a girl. Now when he was a baby (up until he got a hair cut at 10 months) everyone would tell me "what a pretty girl" or "she's so pretty" and so on, but come on, he so doesn't' look like a girl any more.

Halloween Past

Since I won't have this year's Halloween pictures until tomorrow I thought I'd post pictures of Andrew's first 2 Halloweens. The first one, he is a turtle and wearing my costume from when I was a baby. He had just started crawling for real (not doing his "leap frog" that he had been doing for a couple of months already). The next one is self explanatory I think.

Pumpkin Carving

Scraping the guts out

Getting the seeds out

What a fake smile

The Spooky Picture, Andrew is there too.

We carved our pumpkin last night and Andrew loved it. He tried to help scrape all the guts out and would say "ooooo, yucko!" Then when we got the candle out he kept saying "Happy Birthday? Daddy's birthday? My Birthday? Mommy's birthday?", then would try and blow out the candle. I read in a magazine that if you cut the bottom off instead of the top more of the guts would come out so, I tried it and it seemed about the same. However, it was a ton easier to light the candle and then just put the pumpkin over it.

Andrew also had his fall party at MDO today and here is a picture of his class in their costumes.
