Monday Memories

Here are some pictures from my party on Sunday. Yes, I know my birthday isn't until Wednesday, but my parents were here for a visit, so we had a "party" while they were here. The funny thing is that the party was really more for Andrew. He was all excited for the party and the presents. He helped my mom make the cake and kept telling me that "he made it". He also told my mom since we were having a birthday party we all needed hats. Luckily, I had some leftover from his birthday. That is why in a few pictures you see us wearing party hats. He was so cute singing "Happy Birthday" and helping me blow out my candles and open my presents. Here are a few pictures from the party.

Here we are wearing our party hats. Notice how Andrew is in the middle of the table.

My big mixing bowl broke that morning and Andrew

thought he knew just what to do with my new one.

I got an iPod Nano so I can download all my books on audio

I have been wanting to rent "The Price is Right" Wii game since we got the Wii. It was always out. So, now I have my own and it is a ton of fun. Especially, if you like "The Price is Right" or aren't good at traditional video games.

Andrew Anecdotes

Most of you know that Andrew bugs us non-stop to go golfing at the golf course. So, recently Marc has taken him to the chipping green (I think that is what he said) and let Andrew hit a bucket of balls. Well, they decided to go on Thursday while my dad was here so he could see him do it. Apparently they hit a big bucket of balls and Andrew got a little blister on his thumb. Well, when the get home, my dad tells me of their conversation in the car.

Andrew: It hurts

Dad: Yes, because you got a blister

Andrew: Well, that wouldn't have happened if I'd had a glove.

Grandad thought that was the funniest thing ever and was still laughing when they got home. I am sure it was more so since Andrew pronounced glove with a b instead of the v. My question is, how did the kid know about wearing a golfing glove and that is what prevents the blisters?

Andrew Anecdotes

Grandma and Grandad have come to visit Andrew. He is having a blast with them! He keeps teasing my mom. Every morning when she is getting dressed, he steals her clothes and runs away. The kids is so fast that he is already down the stairs before she can catch him. He is laughing the whole time. It really is funny. He has been going nonstop since they got here and it is really cute when he plays hide-n-go-seek with my mom. He even got to help Grandad put a headboard on the bed.

One thing my mom does with all the grand kids is to get them a Build-a-Bear. Andrew picked out a dinosaur and it looks pretty real. Initially its name was "Big", but now when you ask him its name he tells you it is "Dino-Rex". Anyway I will post more pictures and stories later.

Even Bruce likes "Dino-Rex".

Thursday Thirteen

With Valentine's Day around the corner I thought this would be a fun list to make.

Thirteen ways you know you are an "old" married couple:

1. An hour to wait for a table for dinner is just not worth your time anymore.

2. $4.50 for a card!

3. You have given/received the same card more than once.

4. You celebrate Valentine's Day one week early or one week late. (refer to #1)

5. You say "We celebrate Valentine's Day every day"

6. Sexy lingere...LOL....You don't have enough time to take all your clothes off, much less put anything else on.

7. If you do go out you think how can all these "kids" afford this restaurant.

8. Your husband rations your candy (the candy he gave you).

9. You are excited that you get to see a movie (probably rated R) in a theatre.

10. The term "Let's just skip dinner" doesn't mean what it use to (refer to #1).

11. Now that you can afford those romantic get aways, you don't have the time or a sitter to take them.

12. You think that palying Whirly Ball sounds like a good Valentine's Day date.

13. The best Valentine's gift is for you to have your kiddos spend the night away from home, so you can SLEEP all night long and stay in bed all the next morning, SLEEPING.

Andrew Anecdotes ~ He's Such a Boy!

One of the things we do together is to draw on the Aquadoodle. Andrew's favorite things is for me to draw (trace) around his foot or his hand. So, Andrew comes out of the bathroom today and of course has no pants on. He proceeds to sit on his Aquadoodle and asks me "do you want to draw my butt?" I guess he is going to be that guy that makes a copy of his butt on the copy machine at work.

Now as if that isn't enough. I just caught him using my hair brush on the dog!!!! So gross! Luckily, he didn't get to many strokes in and there wasn't a lot of dog hair in it. Ewwwww! I am still debating as to weather I should throw it out.

Poor Andrew

So Andrew was pretty sick last week. We took him to the Dr. on Thursday and it wasn't strep or the flu. He started running a fever on Tuesday night and that lasted until Thursday night. Other than that no real other symptoms other than not feeling well. However, on Wednesday night her was "seeing" things. His temp wasn't too high, but he kept telling me that he "sees a Robot Car (is name for a Transformer) right there. He's standing right there" and then he'd point to the wall. Poor guy. Then yesterday he broke out in a rash all over. So we took him to Acute Care Kids and the Dr. said it was just due to whatever virus he had had. She did look in his ear and he did have an ear infection or at least the beginning of one. She gave us the option of antibiotics or to wait and see what happened. Might as well get them and prevent it from getting worse and having to come back in a day or 2 and pay another office visit. Poor Andrew he never really "acts" sick when he is sick and I really had no idea his ear hurt. He told me once that it hurt the day before we went to his regular Dr. on Thursday and on that day there was only a little clear fluid in it. He didn't say another word about it after. So, maybe it would have cleared up all on its own, but why take the chance. He is doing much better now.

Friday Five

Five Silly Confessions
1. I think Zac Efron is smoking hot and that makes me feel like a dirty, old lady
2. If wasn't for the fact that I "had to go to college" to get a job, I would have had no problem getting married at 20.
3. If Marc would let me I would have 6 kids. (Well as of now, ask me again once I have 2)
4. I could eat Cadbury Carmel Eggs until I puke and then eat some more.
5. I would never be an Elementary School teacher. I loved my HS and MS kids ( most of the time ;) )and would take their "issues" over little kids any day.

Wordless Wednesday (Almost) ~ Taking Cover

Andrew did this all on his own. He hasn't seen it on TV or anything. But he hides behind the couch and "shoots the monsters" . He puts a "nail" from his tool kit in his mouth like a cigar. Maybe some behaviors are in our genes?

Monday Musings ~ Superblah Sunday

I have to say that I thought the Superbowl was kind of boring. Especially the commercials. I think they are spending so much money on the time slot that they can't afford anyone good to make a great, funny commercial that we will remember and talk about the next day. It seems the last Superbowl that was worth talking about the next day was when Janet Jackson flashed us her boob. I still think that was all a ploy to distract form Michael Jackson's child molestation case. I mean prior to that everyone was talking about him. Did he do it, he is so weired...... After it was all about her boob. Was it on purpose, was is an accident, should we be more strict and not have any live broadcasts and so on. Anyway just my random thought for today.
