Follicle Follies

You may have noticed (or maybe not) that there was no Follicle Follies for December. That's because there wasn't. The timing for that month wasn't going to be easy. The "magic" time was going to be right around Christmas and the Dr.'s office was closed that week and I couldn't be monitored, so we didn't take any meds that month. Not a total waste. I did have and HSG test done to make sure I didn't have any blockage or scaring from the miscarriage or the D&C. Again that test was normal (I had one when I was trying to get pregnant with Andrew in 2005). So, now it is back to the waiting game. Waiting to start, waiting for meds, waiting to see if they work.......

This past year and a half has been tough. It has been one year since we started to TTC with a doctor's help. Fourteen months since we started TTC after the miscarriage. Almost 2 years since we decided to start trying for baby #2, right around the time Andrew was going to turn 1. Technically, that did work an I did get pregnant within 3 months of trying on my own, but it didn't last. :( Needless to say, after all this time I am a little frustrated. Trying not to be, that can be counter productive, but what can I say...I thought I would be starting to try for baby #3 by now and not still trying for #2. I know that it will "happen in time" and it has to "be in God's time", and so on. That doesn't make it any easier. If I can ever get this cycle started, maybe I will get an extra special birthday present ;)

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has been following me on this. For your prayers, support and for listening to me when I needed it. Hopefully, soon we can be talking baby :)

Andrew Anecdotes

Marc and Andrew were having a conversation a little while ago and this is how it went:

Marc: So, what did you and mommy do today?

Andrew : Mommy's sick (but I am not)

Marc: Poor mommy does she need medicine?

Andrew: No, she needs candy. That will make her feel better.

Ah, he knows me too well.

Monday Musings

Just when you think you know your kid they surprise you. I have been singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with Andrew since practically birth and he has never sang it with me. I didn't even think he knew the words. Then we go to a party yesterday and they kids were singing it and sure enough so was Andrew, he even did the hand movements. When did this happen??? The little booger has known it this whole time and here I am singing it all by myself! I really shouldn't be all that surprised; he did it with counting and his ABC's way back when. He would never say them; then all of a sudden out of the blue he counts to 15 and said his ABC'S up to G. I think it is a power thing, that's it. He knows I can't make him say anything and he won't no matter how much of a fool I make of myself trying to get him to do it. He is like his dad, they think it is fun to frustrate mommy.

Andrew Anecdotes

The other day Andrew and I went to lunch with my Aunt. This man's phone rang, who was sitting at the table next to us. It had a really, jingly type ring. Well, when Andrew heard it he cupped his hand by his mouth and yelled "Oh, Toodles!!!!" Just like they do on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. My Aunt and I just couldn't stop laughing after that.

Wordless Wednesday (almost) ~ Playing the Wii

Our little cat Max just loves to watch us play the Wii. He will sit in front of the TV watching the little hand move around (I wish I had a picture of that). The other night he hopped up next to Marc as he played. You can see him just under Marc's elbow.

Andrew Anecdotes ~ "Mama Mia"

You know you have been listening to the soundtrack of "Mama Mia" a lot when your 2 year old hears the first five notes of the first song (literally, he knows that song soon as it starts) and yells "Honey, Honey!" "Turn it up loud!". Then when it is over he tells me "I want more Honey. Let's dance".

We also went and saw "The Tale of Desparux" the other day and there is a scene where the mouse falls down the stairs. When this happened Andrew says really loud in the theatre "woopsies". You can't help but laugh.

Family Fun

We had a really nice time visiting with Grandma Kate, Grandpa Jebb, Aunt Amanda, Uncle Brandon and Briannah while we were in MI. Andrew was into everything Grandma and Grandpa were doing. He was constantly trying to look at and touch Grandma's sewing, especially the box of sequins. He wanted to talk to Grandpa on the "cell phone" all day long and would make sure Grandpa got his phone out too. Not to mention playing had held card games together. The poor cats were glad to see him go I am sure. He would chase them around and after Christmas he would use Buzz's laser to shoot them. It did take him a while to warm up to Bart (the big, fluffy, grumpy cat). Andrew also loved playing with his Kissing Cousin (cousin by marriage) Briannah. The were just 2 peas in a pod. He would even cry when they would leave at night. They would spend their time fishing for the magnet fish while trying to escape from the alligator. Then it was time to practice sledding in the dinning room before we tried it outside for real. Andrew thought it was funny to plop on Briannah all the time. You would hear her say "Andrew get off of me!" every now and again. He even did it while they were sledding. Once they were down the hill, back went Andrew and poor Briannah was stuck underneath. Too bad she doesn't live closer. He sure had fun and I know he is going to miss everyone terribly.

Grandpa, can you hear me now?

Who's winning?

Sledding warm up in front of the tree

Awww! Too cute for words

They would even sit and watch movies together.
Imagine, Andrew sitting still!

Every time Jake the cat got in someones lap, Andrew had to follow.

Andrew's First Snow

Andrew had a blast playing in the snow for the first time (we were at Disney World when it snowed here in March). There was at least 4 inches already on the ground when we got there so I went and bout Andrew some snow boots and waterproof gloves. Then it snowed like 8 inches that day and night and we went out to play in the snow the next day. Andrew had a really hard time walking in all that snow and kept telling me it was cold. He would just plop down in it and wait for me to pick him up. We didn't stay out too long that first day. Before we went out again I bought him some snow pants so he would stay warmer. Needless to say all the boy snow pants were sold out so he is wearing some "red" girl's pants. They sure did work. When we went out that 2nd time with Aunt Amanda and Brihannah he didn't complain at all that it was cold even though the temperature that day was a lot colder. Finally daddy came and got to take Andrew out. It had rained a bit so the snow was somewhat easier to pack but still not enough to make a snowman. However, it was just right for Andrew to go sledding in Grandma and Grandpas backyard. The incline was perfect for a 2 1/2 year old and he loved it.

The snow was as deep as Andrew's legs
and he couldn't walk in it very well.

By the end of the first day in the snow he got pretty cold
and was crying to go in.
Andrew kept asking to be picked up
This was on our 2nd day out in the snow
Grandma gave Andrew a shovel to dig in the snow.
Walking in all that snow wasn't easy
Andrew and Brihannah making snow angels
He would just fall down and not try to get up.
He looked like the little brother from "A Christmas Story".

Andrew Anecdotes

A quick Andrew funny. We were in the doctor's office today (he has strep throat by the way) and there was a man leaving that had new born twins. Andrew looked at the guy dead serious and said "you have a lot of babies". It was so funny and the guy was like you have no idea kid.

Christmas 2008

Andrew was really cute this Christmas. He kept telling me that it was his birthday and I would tell him, no it is Baby Jesus' birthday. After that when we would talk about presents he would say that is was Jesus' birthday and then point to a present and say that is His present. The night of Christmas Eve when I put him to bed I was telling him that he needed to go to sleep so Santa can come down the chimney and bring him presents, but if you don't go to sleep he is going to fly over and take John Michael and Ryan their presents. Shhhhh, let's listen if we can hear the bells on his sleigh. Then Andrew would put his finger by his ear and say "I hear him". The very first thing out of his mouth the next morning was "Ryan got presents?". When he finally came down stairs I think he was sort of shocked that there were actually toys under the tree. He was so cute. We were really blessed to be able to spend Christmas with Marc's family in MI. I will post pictures later of our snow days. I hope everyone had a nice New Year.

Santa brought Andrew a Buzz Lightyear, a Scooby toy, a travel Aquadoodle, a DVD and some books.

It always seems that the parents play with the toys as much as the kids.

He was excited about his Buzz Lightyear
Santa put "Red" from Cars in his stocking

Andrew was so excited that there was candy in his stocking
